The Difference Between Front-Page and Back-Page

The front page is where major or headline news stories usually appear in a newspaper. It also teases what else is inside the edition. Back-page can also imply forgotten or less mainstream narratives and topics in various contexts.

In terms of e-books, front-page material can refer to a section that provides readers with a preview of other works by the same author. This can be a great way to entice them to purchase or read more of your content.

Microsoft FrontPage (full name Microsoft Office FrontPage) is a WYSIWYG HTML editor and website management tool from Microsoft. It was included in the Microsoft Office suite from 1997 to 2003 and is now superseded by two separate products: Microsoft SharePoint Designer and Microsoft Expression Web.

Originally, Microsoft FrontPage required a set of server-side plugins originally known as IIS Extensions and then renamed FrontPage Server Extensions to enable the program’s content and publishing features. Later versions of FrontPage worked with a standard FTP or WebDAV protocol for remote Web server publishing and editing.

In 2014, three anonymous Jane Does sued Backpage in federal court accusing it of facilitating sex trafficking through its adult services sections. A district court ruled against them, but in an appeals decision, the First Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that state laws trying to legislate Backpage out of existence were preempted by CDA Section 230. Backpage has since discontinued its adult services sections and is refocusing on its legitimate journalism business.
