Late-Breaking Abstracts

Late-breaking is a special opportunity for researchers to present new work that did not meet the regular abstract submission deadline. All abstracts submitted in this category are reviewed, and accepted research outlines may be presented (by the presenting author) as an e-poster at Congress. Research outlines accepted as late-breaking will also appear on the Congress website shortly before and during the meeting, and in the Congress app (as with other abstracts at the event); however, they will not be included in the FEBS Open Bio supplement of Congress abstracts.

This category is intended to recognize novel, critically important research developments that occur in the lead-up to International Congress. The work reported must be prospective in design and authors should justify late consideration by explaining why the experiment could not have been completed before the standard abstract deadline. Clinical studies are typically not appropriate as late-breaking and must be clearly marked as such (unless they are phase 1 trials, in which case the trial can be considered a “late-breaking”).

A limited number of selected abstracts will be presented in an oral late-breaking session at the conference. These sessions provide exposure and recognition to major randomized trials and registries, highlighting their potential impact on clinical practice. In addition, additional rapid fire sessions will spotlight other clinical research in short oral presentations.
