A daily update is a brief report of events, progress, or changes on a regular basis. For example, a daily update might include a summary of the current state of a project or a list of items that need to be completed in a meeting.
Daily updates are useful for keeping teammates informed on the status of projects, reducing the time spent on meetings, and eliminating redundancies. They can also be used as a quick and efficient way to communicate important information to employees on the go.
To enable daily updates for your Action, configure an intent to be the triggering intent for this feature and create or edit a conversation that asks users whether they’d like to subscribe to receive notifications on their device at their scheduled time each day. When you create this conversation, consider adding a registration prompt for daily updates to the end of your prompting sequence (you may also want to provide mid-conversation or suggestion chip registration prompts for this option).
After the user registers daily updates for your Action, they will receive Assistant notifications at their scheduled time each day. To test this, use a device with the Google Assistant app and invoke your Action, then check your device’s notifications around the scheduled time of each day. To avoid interrupting the user, consider triggering the daily notification in the background after the conversation ends without requiring any additional input from the user. This helps ensure that the notification remains relevant to their needs.
